Regional trade union meetings on HIV and AIDS in 2010
31 December 2010: Following the action on building the momentum for the implementation of the new ILO Recommendation 200 "HIV and AIDS and the world of work" regional trade union conferences were organized in 2010 with the aim to strategize the action at the national and regional level.

Following the action on building the momentum for the implementation of the new ILO Recommendation 200 "HIV and AIDS and the world of work" the International Trade Union Organization has organized regional trade union conferences with the aim to strategize the action at the national level.

The African meeting took place in November in Lome,Togo, and it was organized together with the African representatives of the Global Union Federations, in order to secure the reach to as many concerned sectors as possible.

The Lating American meeting took place in December in Sao Paolo, Brazil and it was followed by the Asia&Pacific meeting in Singapore.

The meetings aimed to:
- discuss and validate country action plans to measure progress agreed at the global meeting,
- examine the bottlenecks and challenges to regional country action in the context of each region,
- identify principles, strategies and types fo support needed by affiliates to further develop country and regional actions.
