Video: International guidelines launched to protect health workers against HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis
25 November 2010: The official launch of the WHO, ILO, and UNAIDS joint policy guidelines on health workers’ access to HIV and TB prevention, treatment, care and support took place on 25.11.2010 in Geneva during the Global South-South Development Expo 2010. It was attended by the Mr A. Diop, Executive Director, ILO Social Protection Sector, Dr. Paul De Lay, Deputy Executive Director, UNAIDS, Dr H. Nakatani, Assistant Director General covering HIV, TB, Malaria, WHO, International Organization of Employers (IOE) and International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC).

ILO, WHO and UNAIDS has been collaborating closely to fill one key gap in HIV and TB global responses – that of protecting the health workforce, which is the pillar in strengthening health systems in order to ensure universal access for HIV and TB services.

The adoption of WHO, ILO, and UNAIDS joint policy guidelines on health workers’ access to HIV and TB prevention, treatment, care and support services is a key step in this direction.

The official launch of the guidelines took place on 25.11.2010 in Geneva during the Global South-South Development Expo 2010. It was attended by the Mr A.
